Can I use this number in ways other than social networking?


Didn't get the registration email

When you sign up for a new Ring-To number, we will send you an email that asks you to click a link to get your account started.

It's possible that this email might have been mistakenly filtered into a spam or trash folder. If you look but don't find it, then one of two things has probably happened:

  • Your ISP has blocked the email for some unknown reason
  • You mistyped the email address when you signed up

Either way, you will need to sign up again. The process is very quick, so it shouldn't be much trouble. The only catch is that we allow only one account per email address... so if you try to sign up again and are told that the email address already exists, then you will need to sign up with a different email address.

Your email address already exists

If you get a message like this during signup, it's because your email address is already in our system and we only allow one email address per account.

If this is your very first time signing up for a Ring-To account, it's possible that your existing account with one of our sister services (such as FaxDigits) could be interfering with the creation of the new account. If this is the case, please use a different email address for your Ring-To number.

Resend registration email
Sorry, but we don't resend registration emails for security reasons. If you believe you received the registration email but simply misplaced it, just search your email for the subject line "Confirm your RingToDigits account".

If you still can't find the email, you will need to sign up again.

Can't login

If you can't login, it's very likely that you are using the wrong login information. Please remember that passwords are case senstive, meaning that if your password is "BlueSky" your password will be rejected if you type "bluesky".

Changing your widget color

First, you will need to sign in to your account.

Under "Home", scroll down and you will see the widget color selection tool on the left side of the page. Select the color you prefer and then click on "Save All Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Changing your widget photo

First, you will need to sign in to your account.

Under "Home", the tool for changing your widget photo is directly beneath the box labeled "Your Ring-To Widget". The maximum file size is 100k, and we recommend using a square image as it will be resized to 100x100 pixels. Once you have uploaded your image, click on "Save All Changes" at the bottom of the page.

Please use good judgment when choosing your widget photo. While a certain level of "mature" content is permissible, photos or icons that are grossly offensive or obscene will be subject to removal and the related account will be closed.

Changing your widget status message

Your widget will display a short status message that tells potential callers whether you're accepting calls or sending them to voicemail. To change this status message, you must first sign in.

Under "Home", look at the box on the right side of the page labeled "My Availability". In that box you will see two different statuses to choose from: "Send calls to my phone" and "Send calls to voicemail".

Regardless of which one you choose, you will be presented with a text box where you can type your personal message for display on your widget. Once you have entered your message, click on "Save All Changes" at the bottom of the page.

As with your widget photo, please use good judgment when choosing your personal widget status message.

Sending all calls to voicemail

First, you will need to sign in to your account.

If you want all calls to your Ring-To number to go directly to voicemail, look at "Home" and click on "Send calls to voicemail" in the Your Availability box. You can also type a short, personalized "away message" if you'd like.

When you're done, click on "Save All Changes" at the bottom of the page. Please allow five minutes for the change to take effect.

Answering calls on your phone

First, you will need to sign in to your account.

If you want all calls to your Ring-To number to ring to a particular phone, look at "Home" and click on "Send calls to my phone " in the Your Availability box. You will see two boxes... the first box is where you can type a short, personalized "available message" if you'd like. The second box is where you enter the phone number that you will be answering calls on (this field is required). Be sure to enter the phone number without punctuation, like this: 3125551212.

When you're done, click on "Save All Changes" at the bottom of the page. Please allow five minutes for the change to take effect.

Can I use this number in ways other than social networking?

There are tons of ways you can use your new Ring-To number! Here are some other popular ways that our service is put to use:

  • Online dating - You don't *really* know who's behind that dating profile, do you?
  • Bars & clubs - He or she might seem nice, but you can't be too careful
  • Classified ads - Stop taking calls the moment your item is sold
  • eBay - Field questions about your auction without advertising your actual number

You can use your Ring-To number however you want!
